The International Conference on Refractories, Jamshedpur (ICRJ) is a biennial international
conference jointly organized by Indian Ceramic Society, Jamshedpur Chapter and Tata Steel Ltd. The
first session was held in 2008. Due to pandemic reasons, we could not organize in 2021. During all
the previous sessions, more than 400 delegates from global leading refractory manufacturers,
academic institutions and end users participated. The conference provides opportunity to people
from different geographical locations to discuss, share and learn about various aspects of
refractories. It also offers a platform to refractory manufacturers and end users to closely
interact and find areas to work further in a more collaborative manner. The Under Graduates, Post
Graduates and PhD Scholars from academia will also get opportunity to interact with refractory
experts.
The seventh edition is being organized in May’2022 through Hybrid mode. During the event,
deliberations will be made on advancement in Refractories, new areas of Research & Developments,
application practices, refractory recycling, energy conservation, carbon emission, raw material
scenario etc. This year, being organized on Hybrid mode, we expect a large scale participation from
all over globe. The global refractory industries, end users, members from academia are expected to
attend. Along with standard mode of presentation we are planning for technical debates and panel
discussions. Special attraction of this event will be benchmarking session with global refractory
users.
